Holy Mass will be said this Sunday for him. Just had it confirmed by the priest from Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest. Wishing you peace and glad to hear he was able to receive the Last Rites. Lux æterna luceat eis Domine. Cum Sanctis tuis in æternum, quia pius es. Suaimneas síorraide tabair dóib a tigearna agus go lonnruigid orta an solus buan-martanac

Sorry to hear this, Maolsheachlann. I'm sure your father is in a better place now.

Sincere sympathy Maolsheachlann. Your father has been in my prayers too over the last couple of weeks. The blog post about him is so interesting - I'd say he was delighted with it.

A childhood friend of mine died during the week. He had spina bifida and had a hard life but trusted in God always. He died after surgery.
Due to the new regulations no one was allowed to attend the funeral mass which was held even without the body being present. Normally you can access the church services via web cam but it crashed and I am not sure if the family were even able to see the ceremony.
My brother saw a small crowd assemble near the grave afterwards. There will be many tales of absolute heartbreak like this for many in our land and overseas during these weeks. Please remember those afraid to meet their maker that he will give them his loving grace at this strange twilight time and that he will comfort all who mourn.

Since spam has begun to be posted, maybe we ought to give time in prayer for the forum itself? It should be sorely felt as bad news if the site got "hacked" on regular basis.

I try to check regularly to remove unwelcome "visitors" but I have noticed a recent increase.

I've been completely without internet access in recent days. It has its benefits, but its drawbacks as well!

Yesterday,in a farming region of our state,a young nurse was killed in a car crash on the way to work;in Melbourne a truck-driver accidentally plowed into four police officers, who are stretched to the limit in Victoria due to extreme lockdown rules;all four died,a number only surpassed in their force back in 1878 when Victorian police took on Ned Kelly and his family. Perhaps two of the more severe examples of how lives are being destroyed by the virus, the solutions as much as the actual illness, to paraphrase the American President. Catholics, and perhaps some persons who aren't, might take note that MayDay is the feast of St Joseph the Worker, instituted during the Cold War largely to support ethical economics, but definitely a good novena to start today for our populations, for a return to some normality. A full nine days is traditional, starting yesterday or today.

Please pray for my father-in-law. He has the Covid19 and is on a ventilator and is not expected to survive. I pray he will be given all the graces of a happy Christian death and that the Lord Jesus and his mother will strengthen and comfort all of those who will mourn him. It's good to keep our hard pressed and over worked nurses , doctors and hospital staff in mind and in our prayers in these days of peril and pestilence.
