Unfortunately the repeal of laws against Sunday trading here and the Uk made Sunday a work day for many, generally lower paid, workers and their families. I do shift work and love being off on a cold wet Monday morning listening to the wireless as the rest of the nation makes its' way to work or school. One of life's little guilty secrets.

I enjoy the same thing whenever I have an "irregular" day off work.

To be charitable to the religious in Thomas' post, he perhaps meant 'all of us'in the sense of the nation as a whole suffering from God's punishment for the collective sins. He has punished nations in the past in the Bible and, perhaps through history (though I warn against assuming this or that calamity was a direct punishment from God for the obvious rabbithole of speculation that is.) and most were nation where most of the decisions were neither made nor informed by the majority of a nation (except for the times that they were)
I can think of few abominations more likely to bring God's wrath to America and other countries with high rates of it than abortion.
