Does anyone else feel that movie reviews are almost entirely driven by political correctness?
For instance, Wonder Woman is getting amazing reviews right now, while Transformers is getting terrible reviews.
Now, I saw one of the earlier Transformers movies, and I thought it was dire, but the tone of the reviews seems to be hostile not only to the movie but its atmosphere. "Toxic masculinity" is one phrase that was used.
Meanwhile, I suspect Wonder Woman is getting good reviews because it features a woman beating up lots of men. (At least, I presume it does.)
I'm not just talking about these movies. It seems constant. Race is another motif; white-bashing movies seem to get critically adored. How many movies need to be made about racism in the Southern USA?

I would agree in general. In the case of Wonder Woman vs Transformers. The Transformers Movies go from bad to worse whereas I think Wonder Woman looks like a decent movie. I will have to watch first of course.
