heritage.utoronto.ca/frye/full-lecturesNorthrop Frye's introduction to the Biblical material is superb, Jordan Peterson approach popular in recent years clearly borrows from it (both Canadians). But looking for patterns in Biblical narrative is as old as the Church Fathers, and back before it to the Jewish Midrash exegetes . Catholicism has been untenable to me since I was a teenager, primarily because of the abuse scandals. Rightly or wrongly an Irishman other churches like Anglicanism or Presbyterianism hold ... historical baggage.. The evangelicals seem overly literal for my liking. Any thoughts on what would be closest to Frye's type of reading here. A deep biblical knowledge, but emphasis not on literalism. Orthodoxy maybe?
