Being a Hitchcock fan since early years I am on a long study procedure on his works. If you happens to know about any stories or anecdotes of him in Ireland I would be more than happy to hear. Irish mother and some Irish themes in a few movies (the play-like Juno and the Paycock, the other also rather untypical Under Capricorn a period drama on Irish persons in 19th century Australia starring Ingrid Bergman as tragic wife in a mesalliance, the priest character Fr. Logan in I Confess and some more) are not so well understood or stressed facts. Growing up with Irish neighbours family friends in his London youth must have meant a lot and is still more or less unchartered by the many writers on his life and works. Almost curiously little is heard of and written on about himself connecting to Ireland or Irish as such. I have never seen any articles on him visiting any relatives or otherwise spending time in Ireland. So anything on Hitchcock in this respect would be much appreciated!
