This controversial movie opened in Ireland last week and seems to be on normal widespread release at least in Dublin.
I watched it last night and would recommend it. It's an advocacy movie in the best sense of the term. The issues of child sex slavery and modern human slavery are highlighted as one of the greatest evils of our day. Sadly most people are ignorant and unaware of the enormity of this vile industry.
Its hard to see why anyone would object to this film which is a straight forward good triumphing over evil story. There is no conspiracy theory depicted contrary to some criticism I have come across.
So why all the heat? I have a few tentative suggestions. It's an advocacy movie coming from a traditional pro family perspective. That's alarming to the large vested progressive interests. For too long advocacy has been seen as a solely leftist perspective. How often have we been fed the lie that "trans rights are the human rights issue of our age".
The main actor who played Christ in Mel Gibsons Passion movie plays a believing Christian with a large family who is unafraid to quote scripture on one occasion to a bewildered paedophile. In other words he's deeply uncool.
Another implicit theme is the horror of the scale and depravity of the sexual revolution. Its not all about consenting adults having "fun". There is a dark under belly which relies on mass prostitution including children. We will be discussing in shocked outrage in future years why we ignored this phenomenon in Ireland in the early 21st century.

I think your last point hits the nail on the head. So many people are addicted to pornography and I'm sure it's not just child pornography that uses slave labour, or something close to slave labour.
I saw it too and thought it excellent, and I was also bemused anyone could object to it.

I saw it too and thought it excellent, and I was also bemused anyone could object to it. The ready impact of widespread pornography is under studied but seems to be the latest aspect of the 1960s sexual revolution which is bringing the west to its knees. It seems the numbers of teens identifying as LGBTSJ has quadrupled and actual sexual ( or even ordinary social )activities with other people has declined. The widespread usage of birth control and abortion has led to a large gap in our European native populations and a need to import large numbers of foreigners. I don't think the free love advocates of the swinging 60s had this level of social upheaval in mind but you mess with mother nature at your peril as the environmental lobby never ceases to remind us in relation to our consumerism. The roots for the current gender craze and the sterilisation of children was a couple of generations ago when ordinary married couples threw off the cumbersome shackles of human biology. Naturally everyone laughed off the reluctant quiet pope Paul VI who warned opening Pandoras box wouldn't end well.

Swedish Cinema "collective" (steered by the one major distributor) still refusing to let this movie out for Swedish public. Such a shame but no surprise after all. I hoped they would change their mind but the impact from public outside the mainstrean weirdness bubble is apparently too little to make a difference. Probably a small board tainted by woke (but considering themselves movie lovers) making the bad decisions "for all of us". On behalf of whom one may ask.
