Do these semmelbullar, semlor (plural) occur outside our Swedish kingdom up north? Almost every Swede eats at least some semla on Fat Tuesday. The oldest local bakery in town makes around 10 000 semlor for this day in particular! That is in a town of just over 100 000 inhabitants, where about half or so comes from abroad in this age of mass migration... So it´s really a living tradition to eat these simple yet tasteful classic niceties.
