This follows from Mourning Ireland's comments on Dublin in the 'Ireland and USA' thread.
If you hate the multi-cultural, PC Liberal, money-mad forces that are and have swamped the western world, where is the best place in Ireland to live in order to avoid this?
Assuming there is anywhere left of course....
I gather Dublin has gone the toilet.
Cork is slowly going that way....
West of Ireland? Gaeltacht? Should Conservatives, particularly of a Nationalist bent, head west, immerse themselves in the language etc.?
Obviously there are massive practical considerations, such as earning a living, property prices, so maybe I should ask: where in Ireland would you live if you had a free choice?

Tara. Or the Aran islands. Those who wish to strenghten our claims to extra natural resources might consider Rockall.

I'm the kind of person who always prefers to be behind enemy lines. I want to be in the thick of it. I want to live as authentically as I can even in a cosmopolitan, secularised, liberalized metropolis like Dublin. I guess I want to love my country at its worst, too.

I am starting to bend towards the Benedict option in many ways. I suppose living in the countryside, near a Latin Mass community would be an ideal. Maolsheachlann plan is definitely a good and heroic idea, but I would not like to raise children in such a place. Rockall made me laugh
