One of the fundamental features of Judeo- Christian and indeed Islamic societies is the venerable tradition of showing hospitality to a visitor. We do our best to be kind and welcoming and make them feel at ease.
The Taoiseach who is Catholic, I believe,is planning to lecture Pope Francis about how the Irish people regard same sex parents and their children as families. I doubt the pontiff would disagree with this. I wonder did Leo look into his heart to see what the Irish people believe ? He also wants married and women clergy. In an ecumenical gesture he said he believes this needs to apply to Jews and Moslems too. No doubt Islamic leaders will be lectured loudly and vigorously in future.
Minister Zappone catholic theologian and practising witch wants to challenge the Pope on his negative remarks on gender ideology. Josepha Madigan minister for culture , Reiki master and part time priest, wants women like herself no doubt, to be given power and high office within the church.
Also in the papal reception queue is our old friend ex-president and trainee canon lawyer Mary Mc Aleese who objects to chastity for gays and infant baptism. She like all the above mentioned is pro-abortion so perhaps the Pope needs to change track on that too? I am not sure how long this charade will last but it is cheap. It is self indulgent postering. And it is bad manners. All of these moaners are polite , middle class, members of the establishment who would be horrified if some one said a word out of place at one of their exclusive social gatherings.
Unlike his two predecessors Francis isn't a great linguist. His English is poor. Lucky for him the ranting of our disgruntled apostate politicians should go right over his Papal tiara.

Yes, just like Leo supposedly chewed Donald Trumps's face off about illegal immigration. I am sure their actual comments to the Holy Father are going to be considerably toned-down when they speak to him face-to-face. Good luck getting a response from him. Two cardinals have literally died waiting for one...

He he he ! I forgot to mention the Archbishop of Dublin doesn't believe in hell but then the Pope himself has sent out mixed signals on that topic.
I think the Pope is going to lecture them all on their betrayal of their baptismal promises and then perform a mass exorcism. Has anyone a spare herd of swine handy?

Upon seeing an elderly MP use an ear trumpet to better hear a speaker he disliked, Churchill is reported to have said, "The man denies his natural advantage".

Last I heard commentators had decided that Statler and Waldorf were a gay couple. No lack of non-imaginative antagonists these days. They seem gay to me. They're always very jovial.

This is blatant homonormativity. Statler and Waldorf are now choosing to identify as a medieval Albanian black disabled transgendered open relationship. Please respect their choice.

Since the list of publicly recognised "gender types" has been limited to a poor 60 categories the development and renewed understanding of our times calls for at least 600 more varietes. That should be obvious even to those old lads themselves. How could they possibly feel welcome in a world where even this meek identification will not be supported by one and all?

This weekend marks the 50th anniversary of the famous visit by the newly retired General Charles De Gaulle to Ireland .
In order to get away from French politics De Gaulle retreated to what was then fairly isolated County Kerry for a long break away from the media. There are some wonderfully iconic photos of the great man and his wife on wind swept Kerry beaches . The photos of himself and President De Valera show the two patriarchs in their final years looking almost like long lost brothers.
