It might be fun to throw around some definitions of conservatism, whether our own or those of others.
Here is one I came up with once: A conservative is somebody who thinks the future will be here soon enough.

A conservative is like a tree with strong roots. It bears good fruit and can stand strong against the winds and rains that assail it.
The liberal tree has shiny leaves for a year or two but its roots are shallow and lie in poor soil. It eventually starts to wither and is transplanted to another site, but alas, the same process ensues. It finds itself in the shadow of the conservative tree and feels resentful and wishes to topple it.

"a reluctant participant in change"? Actually it's a quote from the Oireachtas education committee on consent classes

Conservatives respect personal sovereignty, liberty, freedom of speech, character and property, in every event and always, with true consideration for all, and expect others to do the same. Liberal progressives (socialists), see themselves as holding some utopian moral high ground, yet play on the guilt, fears and indignities of of everyone to impose a cynical fascism that demands control of all we do, how we do it, and much of what we earn, in the name of enforced equality or our own 'wellbeing', like it or not. It is long past time we Conservatives quit worrying about what we are, and instead became a wee bit more professional, and active, at shining a very bright light on the loathsome evils of this growing cancer in every element of our bureaucracy, our government, our media and our precious colleges. And we need to do this now for the sake of our increasingly naive kids and our grandkids.

When it comes to "personal sovereignty", how would you view the topic of euthanasia?
