I look forward to reading that! I remember Fr. Brendan Purcell in the UCD philosophy department, when I briefly studied there, was big into Voegelin. I found him hard to penetrate myself. (I realize the article is not actually written by Voegelin.) In the secular realm, I believe Yeats was the greatest Irishman of all time. And also the greatest poet who ever wrote in the English language. Some of his ideas were daft, though.

To my shame, I must confess I have never really delved into Yeats much. It was more the nationalist angle that interested me. It is an oversight I must rectify.
Voegelin is - in very broad brushstrokes - mainly about how social and political orders have until the 20th century apocalypse tried to mirror what they believe to have been the Cosmic order. He gave some talks at UCD back in the 60s I think which are on YouTube.
