The following links do a good job articulating what I have been thinking about for a while now. Ever since the idol worship at the Vatican last October. Is it just a mere coincidence that Italy is the worst affected (so far)? Possibly not. No public Mass that nearly coincided with the start of Lent in many places? Lots of things to think about along with all the other current problems within the Church. Go to confession and pray the Rosary! Our Lady of Akita, pray for us!

joyintruth.com/sr-agnes-sasagawa-receives-private-revelation-on-october-6/To the best of my knowledge Akita never received ecclesiastical approval. No doubt I will be corrected if this is so. I am well aware these are frightening and momentous times but it is also important that we do not lose our heads either. Christ promised to be with us always even to the end of time. Some one worked out there are 365 references to God in the Holy Scriptures remaining with us in spite of all danger peril and even death.Secular alarmists have been crying panic for some time. Let us be prudent with our words and messages

Let us be prudent with our words and messages The local Bishop did, in the 80s,give approval to the original messages. A visiting priest we had from the Friars of the Immaculate had apparently visited there recently, his congregation are usually particular about having some approval, although Francis' regime's visitation of their order might have inclined them to less ecclecastical obedience. I always take these inspirations in an abstract way- even saints' visions usually prove to have only a non-literal prophetic value.

Well put Seamus. There is no shortage of frightening "prophecies" out there. Even the bible has its fair share of controversial material. The book of Revelation was I believe one of the last books to be accepted by the church as part of the biblical canon for this reason.
We, now , at this very moment need hope and determination . We must resist the temptation to be overwhelmed with fear and anxiety. By our prayer and practical sacrifices we can get though this Long Lent but we need to avoid creating panic or spreading despair.

joyintruth.com/sr-agnes-sasagawa-receives-private-revelation-on-october-6/Allowing room for reservations there are, sad to say, certain contents in her apparitions that converge in a sense of picture, one we can admit have become nearly familiar in late years: "The Church will be filled with those who accept compromises, who corrupt the gospel and disfigure the truth." Even if there be conventional historical explanations for most of the current affairs, some of what we now hear of tends to be worse than even during the heyday of troubles in the late 60s. Where are the scholars and saints of Ireland in all this acute need?
