Most of us have a mixed experience of hearing sermons in church or homilies to be liturgically precise. Rather than rant about the mediocre quality of many I am casting my eye to You Tube land. It can be a great learning resource.
I want to kick off with a few favourites of mine. Fr Benedict Groeschel of EWTN fame was an orthodox and entertaining wise preacher. Archbishop Sheen's programmes are Catholic classics well worth a view. Fr George Rutler is erudite and thought provoking as are his books.
Bishop Barron can be inspiring too and sponsors an important evangelical ministry on line. There are also an increasing number of lay speakers who offer solid , inspiring Christ centred preaching. In this time of universal testing and trial we need to nourish our souls lest we perish in fear or anger or despair.
Any other speakers that come to mind? Specifically anybody in Ireland?
