I've developed a bit of interest over the past years in Action française, the Monarchist nationalist French group. The Burkean has a brief but interesting mission statement from one of their reps: AF, History and PracticePlus an interview with with Francis Venciton, Assistant Secretary-General. Although not French, the continued existence of Action française, and the fact that they are very active and dynamic cheers me. I wonder what lessons Irish nationalists or Conservatives could learn from them.

Very interesting. I think the point that different societies should have different social and political systems, systems suitable to their own culture, is a basic conservative one. I don't know much about Burke, but this seems to have been one of his key insights. The neocon project of exporting a particular brand of liberal democracy everywhere seems to have been as disastrous as it is banal.
