What do members think about this? To me it looks like the persecution of a political opponent by the Deep State. I'd believe it's most certainly the case, especially coming,as it has, after the legacy that he left through the Supreme Court became obvious earlier this year. But loose canons have a habit of diverging from rules; I'd be cautious about making any preconceived exoneration in Mr Trump's favour. The death of Mr Gorbachev also serves as a reminder of the double-edge that brilliant persons unconsciously have. Aside from the moral objectives that some of us would have to the global Gorbachev Foundation and it's coalition with JK Rowling among others, Russians still remember the poverty they experienced in the post-communist era, possibly stemming from the past system, even if this is impossible to prove, but perhaps a situation that could have been avoided also. I saw a photo of an interesting bronze recently. Obviously fashioned to look like a Pieta at first glance, at second glance it's actually a prelate holding the dead body, which at third glance is wearing army boots, representing the dead of (particularly the Second World) War. Idelfonso Schuster was, like many devout Italians, originally optimistic about Mussolini's government and (like Lefevre) at the time of Italy's African campaign, a staunch supporter of European colonisation especially as a means of promoting Catholicism but, unlike many prelates, didn't stay silent when the uglier side of Fascism became apparent. A great symbol of the mighty embracing the suffering and, really, the monkey-puzzle of western politics is just as confusing today. Somehow being slightly out-of-step with the independence movements of modern times didn't prevent Schuster's beatification by John Paul. The sculpture was made by a Mr Zegna; couldn't find other references to him or whether he is part of the fashion dynasty of Milan, the diocese of Archbishop Idelfonso. If a suspicious gap in time appears and we see no solid conviction of Mr Donald, that will obviously speak for itself.

The whole thing seemed obviously shifty from the get-go, and the latest development now is that Joe Biden personally ordered the raid? And then, of course, went on to give his speech about how Trump supporters are a threat to democracy which will not be tolerated. I don't know all the current details of the raid, but I heard someone describe it as "The current plan is to go after Trump for obstructing the investigation of a crime he didn't commit." Based on previous track records, sounds about right.
So basically they're gearing up to undermine Trump for the not-too-distant preparations for the next election.
