Charities have been milking the Irish for decades now. We've been practically raised in this country to have always had a kind view of charitable donations, I guess it was a natural extension to always 'putting the change in the poor box' or 'the missions box' and the big charity's scam corporations have been taking full advantage of the 'free money' they receive, most of which almost never reaches its supposed beneficiaries.

It's also a highly politicized sector, for instance, Trocaire's hostility to Israel.

A tragedy about Colm O Gorman's campaignfor abortion legalisation is the sickening treatment he received as a boy from sexually abusing clergy.
Just as God can bring good out of evil , the diabolical one can lead the innocent to use their suffering to lash out and hurt other innocents. The sins of certain clergy have not only hit the church directly in terms of undermining faith but are still fuelling the wider campaign against innocent life itself.

Who knows how long they abuse scandal will continue to wreak havoc on the Church and the world, through these ripple effects?

Maolsheachlann I once thought the abuse scandal was overly flogged to death by forces hostile to the Church. Certainly it have them ample ammunition.
But I now believe the damage done was almost impossible to calculate. I also reluctantly think some high ranking church people still do not get it. It was a terrible mistake that Cardinal Brady and every bishop involved in cover ups did not resign in humble penitence for this abject failure. Internationally Irish Catholicism is stained with this scandal and unfortunately , substantially the guilt is justified.

We know the Irish Intelligentsia's views on the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. Have they weighed in yet on the following?: www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/conservative/8201521/Sex-offenders-including-paedophiles-should-be-allowed-to-adopt-Theresa-May-told.html

Problem mit Javascript. Nachricht zu den Einstellungen. Hilfe! My english is poor . I deleted this post previously because I guessed it was spam. Now I guess it's not. I'm sorry if you're having some problem with the forum, but I'm afraid my technical skills are not great. It seems to work OK for most people.

You were going to delete a comment by a German guest? Well that's no good.
Können Sie das Problem näher erläutern? Ich weiß etwas über dieses Zeug.

I recently spotted a lout working as a chugger for Amnesty going up to strangers and asking them "what's your name"? I was very taken aback by the sheer bad manners and disregard for people's privacy. For an organisation that seems to exist purely to police the ideological left wing purity of Irish life it sure needs a lot of cash. I believe there has been a lot of internal bullying in the organisation and indeed suicides within the International arm. More ironies. I can't wait until they start persecuting prisoners of conscience who fall foul of the Harris abortion law.
On a positive note it appears the proposed laws to ban anti abortion protests in Ireland are encountering difficulties based on the constitutionally protected rights of free assembly and free speech.
