After reading "False Friends of Fatima" by Christopher Ferrara one can easily get a bit gloomy in outlook. The way facts are presented is impressive throughout and a lasting impression is that the role of the Secretary of State seems to control a lot more than is healthy inside the hierarchy. I do hope this kind of critique of the "management" around the Fatima message may lead to many good things like conversions and revaluations. Has any here seen this book?

I haven't read it, but I watched a lecture he gave about it, on Youtube. Depressing!

I think his views are heavily weighted. Still the realities can be gloomy enough in themselves.

This week I'm in Fatima and have prayed for the Conservative Cause, or - more honestly - for many people, including you benefactors in this forum; hopefully some answer be given that may form a slight piece of light in the present Modernist darkness ;-)
(The real sight of probably a hundred thousand together before Our Queen of the Rosary felt inspiring yesterday!)

I came across a 1984 book a little while ago by two investigative journalists Gordon Thomas and Max Morgan-Witts, THE YEAR OF ARMAGEDDON, THE POPE AND THE BOMB, which I happened to look through again today. It deals mostly with Mehmet Agca and the assassination attempt and how the CIA and Bulgaria may have been involved and, although they are solid enough investigators it IS quite sensational and it may well all be little or nothing in the end. But a curious bit was the involvement of an Irish sister and brother from Rosslare who seemed to have voluntarily vanished after showing a dossier of papers to the authors which she, Marie, had received from her Dutch boyfriend named Kusters, who apparently had trained Agca. Marie had lived in Beirut. A London flatmate of Marie was arrested around the time for gun running for Idi Amin. I wonder what ever happened to Marie and John McCarthy?
