As a believer in a post-racial society I'm committed to talking about race as little as possible. We all need to get over it. Such incidents are best ignored. Abuse in sports games is hardly a shocker, is it? It's no different to somebody being called ugly, baldy, etc. etc.
I wonder why people are so fixated on race and racism. I think racism and anti-racism are two sides of the same tiresome coin.

But should Cyrus Christie simply have to put up with public humilation? Surely that is is unjust and ignores vile public bullying?

Well, this is a description from the Irish Independent: "There were two tweets that referenced Jamaica, one of which came from someone from England and another from what appears to be a trolling account and Ireland fans have today rallied around Christie on social media." Source here.It seems like an over-reaction. I really get the impression people jump with eagerness on any hint of racism, no matter how tiny. And what can be done about people saying nasty things on Twitter anyway? I see the most venomous tweets exchanged all the time.

If they are said by someone on the Right, however (and remember, anyone remotely conservative will be classed as a "far right extremist" or "lunatic fringe neo-Nazi"), all hell will break loose. It's a case of DOUBLE STANDARDS. Awareness of Operation Mockingbird is entering the mainstream American consciousness, but this has not happened yet in Ireland from what I can see.

I had never heard of Operation Mockingbird till now! I wouldn't want to violate Occam's razor. Are there racist idiots out there? Surely. Yes, I can imagine a few of them giving a black soccer player racist grief on Twitter. Shame on them. However, that this becomes a news story is crazy. I do also believe there are people who have an interest in faking this kind of thing. We saw all the fake "hate crimes" after Trump's election. There is a whole anti-racism industry out there that needs to keep the funds flowing. www.nationalreview.com/article/445495/bogus-hate-crimes-trump-conservatives-blamed-clueless-leftists

It was explicitly cited by Cultural Marxists in their writings. All identity politics fall within the divide and conquer strategy, most notably the socially engineered "gender supremacy" movements targeting the destruction of the family - namely, the second-wave misandric feminist ("war on men") which taught women with genuine grievances to hate men and was funded by the CIA, and it's Hegelian misogynistic counterpart, MRA/Manosphere/MGTOW, which teaches justifiably angry men to despise women. All these initiatives are designed to keep the "little people" at war with each other in order to distract from the power grab happening above that will enable our superiors to rule over all of us like slaves.

Yes, it has been proven that many hate crimes are faked - but this is rarely publicized by the media (hint: Operation Mockingbird). Moreover, professional race-baiters like Al Sharpton (who was recently given an award in Ireland) are used to ensure that Black Americans see Whites as their oppressor and vote as loyal Democrats, thus enabling rich white liberals to remain in power. Fortunately, there is a growing surge of pro-Trump black conservatives on Youtube and Twitter who are exposing what this scam has done to the black community. Professional race-baiting is very lucrative; Maxine Waters, for example, became very wealthy in just this way.

I love this clip so much. It is a great clip. It reminds me of an essay that Patrick West (now writes for 'Spiked') wrote for 'Studies' the quarterly Jesuit review way back in the summer of 2005, when he was writing about the poverty of multiculturalism: The best way to tackle racism is not to 'respect' difference, but to ignore difference.

I agree, but only in regard to race. I am all for celebrating difference in other regards. But I see nothing positive in dwelling on race differences. The only reservation in my mind regarding this is African-American culture, in terms of personal names, and music, and even the festival of Kwanzaa. And only to the extent that it is about celebration rather than victimhood. I feel exactly the same about Irish-American culture. Dwelling on historical discrimination against the Irish is not admirable in my view.

Dwelling on historical discrimination against the Irish is not admirable in my view. It will have to go down as one of the "what ifs" of politics- if the wife of Democrat Governor Ralph Northam hadn't been there to stop him moonwalking... His black-face controversy coincided with an American professor Daniel Pollack-Pelzner claiming that Mary Poppins also was a racist figure," 'her face gets covered with soot, but instead of wiping it off she gamely powders her nose and cheeks and gets even blacker'. Professor Pollack-Pelzer links the scene to racism in other books by (Poppins) author P.L. Travers, as in the 1943 novel 'Mary Poppins Opens the Door' when a housemaid screams at a sweep 'don't touch me you black heathen' " I was actually unaware that there was a whole series of novels, but it didn't sound like the housemaid was to be viewed in a favorable light. According to the recent film about Travers, if she was prejudiced at all it was towards white-Americans, she disliking Disney and being against VanDyke having any part in the movie.
