Some batty activist , no doubt a UCD gender studies student produced a pastiche of the 1916 proclaimation which he/she/ze put up on some central Dublin locations last night.
It declares reproductive rights as inalienable and indefeasible ( I wonder where they pinched these concepts?) Naturally all mention of cherishing the children of the nation have been dropped. This inclusive phrase , much quoted during previous referenda by liberals has now been dropped as an embarassment.
Most chillingly the new proclaimation is not addressed to Citizens or Irish men and women but "conscious people of Ireland". This piece of adolescent trash is laughable but it does give an insight to the hard left feminist vision of our future. A brave new world beckons. Together for death.

I wonder what "reproductive rights" men have?

This is actually an interesting point, and reminds me of something I've been seeing on Youtube from time to time. If women have the right to decide whether they are mothers or not (using abortion), and if the Pro-Choice side is all about "Freedom, Equality, Choice" (something like that?), does that mean - for the sake of equality - that men will now be given the "right" to surrender their fatherhood? After all, if a woman can decide to wash her hands clean of the responsibility of a child, it's only fair that such a thing is extended to me too, right?

Ugh...this didn't go through and I have to write it again...
It's actually a good point. If women will be given the choice to decide whether they become mothers or not (using abortion), and if it's true the Pro-Choice side stands for "Freedom, Equality, Choice" (something like that?), will men then be given the right to abandon their fatherhood? After all, if women have the choice to wash their hands clean of any responsibility of having a child, shouldn't that same choice be extended to men?

As far as I can tell, there are far more men being forcibly pushed out of children's lives that WANTING to get out of them. John Waters has written a lot about this.
