Ailtirí na hAiséirghe was mentioned in another thread. I found this pdf of a 1944 manifesto. it would be interesting to see what could be salvaged from this from a contemporary Conservative Irish perspective. AnH Party Manifesto

The documentary mentions the Irish language women's magazine, Deirdre, which Gearóid Ó Cuinneagáin published. I've read a few articles in this, as I try to read old Irish language journals regularly. (New ones are generally too PC and lefty to stomach. Luckily I can get old journals of all kinds in the library where I work.) There was nothing obviously fascistic about it. I couldn't help thinking of Roderick Spode and Eulalie in P.G. Wodehouse! Apparently the movement's journal remained profitable long after the party itself had dwindled into irrelevance. At one point, it was even said the party was a journal rather than a party.

I'm going to try and watch this over the next few days, although I note there are no subtitles for the Gaeilge, so it shall be a self-reprimanding experience!
