In addition to the quangos the tax dodging oligarchs that run Google Apple Facebook etc effectively run this country as they have our government at their beck and call. Not only do we bow to Brussels but we also have a huge US but socially leftist economic presence in our small state. Joyce coined the cliche about Ireland being colonised by Britian and Rome. We now have 3 powerful non elected institutions influencing how we live , think and speak and most journalists think this is absolutely normal.

We now have 3 powerful non elected institutions influencing how we live , think and speak and most journalists think this is absolutely normal. There should be no doubt that the big companies are influencing things. It's out in the open, for all to see, in the U.S. Here's a quote from a news article on pushback regarding the state of Georgia's attempt to have less abortion through a proposed 'heartbeat bill': Major media companies across Hollywood are pushing back against the anti-abortion “heartbeat bill” passed in Georgia, saying they will monitor the situation and reconsider filming in the state in the future should the law go into effect. Disney, AMC, Netflix, WarnerMedia, NBCUniversal, Viacom, CBS and Showtime, Sony, MGM, STX Entertainment have all issued statements to that effect, amounting to a massive rejection of the law signed in early May. Several companies said they would do the same in other states where similar legislation has been adopted. This is nothing short of blackmail by large corporations, as well as being anti-democratic, basically declaring that they would boycott the State (and any others) should the law be successful.
