Unlike many articles in this subject this one is somewhat nuanced and is worth a read. There are people with extremist views on the right who are filling a vaacum caused largely by the abandonment of social conservatives by Fianna Fail , Fine Gael and even Sinn Fein.
I have voted No 1 for the "hard right" not because I like their views but because there is no bloody alternative that remotely advocates a world view I agree with. This vaacum is not addressed in the article unfortunately. It is possible to have concerns about rapid mass immigration without being racist and to be alarmed at our unthinking embrace of all things progressive without being a fascist.

A few other random thoughts.
Has the Times ever published an in-depth article on the far left and Republican street intimidation and violence. These groups have had a monopoly on street political thuggery for decades at least in the Republic .Antifa intimidation has been overlooked for years by the media who seem to blithely ignore the physical zeal of the left.
Will articles like this be used as evidence of increased hate crime and used as evidence to push through the threatened new Hate Crime laws?
The lady assaulted by bullying thugs in one video on social media is called Izzy Kamikaze, presumably not her baptismal names. The Kamikaze were fascist Japanese suicide bombers the last time I checked. All this postmodern irony can be a bit dizzying.
