My father is in hospital at the moment. Prayers would be appreciated. I may not be able to keep a close eye on the forum for the next little while, though I'll try to look in regularly. If anybody sees anything that needs to be dealt with, trolling or whatever, please email me at Maolsheachlann@gmail.com. I am sorry to hear that. Will remember him and you all in my prayers.

April 4th commemorates St Isidore of Seville, popularly thought of as patron of internet, due to being known as a chronicler. So happy feast. I would have thought of St Gabriel the Archangel myself, as he spreads news fast. But we see in the case of Zachariah that he insists on belief, perhaps not something we do with everything seen on a screen.

I deleted a post with a screenshot in Arabic from a new member. Apologies for this if it was innocuous, but the combination of a new member and a screenshot I couldn't understand made me wary.

I have not been contributing to the forum lately and am wondering how it is going? I wonder if there any way to attract more people to the forum?

I have not been contributing to the forum lately and am wondering how it is going? I wonder if there any way to attract more people to the forum? I plugged it just yesterday on my Facebook page, funnily enough. As I only have 112 Facebook friends, I wouldn't expect a stream of new members from that... It would be nice to have a few more regulars, but I have to say I'm quite pleased to keep it relatively small (personally). I've noticed that, beyond a certain point of participants, the quality of any online discussion forum goes down. But yes, if anyone can easily plug it elsewhere online, that would be welcome. I'll plug it on Twitter later.

If you have an event, web page, book, or product that might genuinely interest Irish conservatives, you are welcome to plug it on this forum. Don't be shy about promoting it here.
Plugging stuff that's not at all relevant to the forum will just get your post deleted and you banned.

I find it hard to stay on top of the spam-posting on the forum. If any of the members here would like to become a "moderator", which means you can delete this stuff when I don't see it, please just holler.

I can help out if you like. Tried to unsucessfully delete the offending specimen yesterday.

I was a God on this site up to yesterday. This appealed to my inner Roman tyrant to no end. Now Maolsheachlann has laid hands on my head , and pressed ornate levers and buttons to turn me into a "Global moderator". My head is spinning....
I like the 5 stars too which are nothing to do with the EU or the Italian populists , I hasten to add.
Think darkest and most heartless Tory blue.

"Global moderator"....the very term conjures up all sorts of wonderful fantasies...first thing I would do is make Dublin city centre completely pedestrianised....after that, who knows?!

It sounds like a cross between one of those odd geeky but immensely powerful and unelected rich oligarchs who run our social media and the rather bland individuals the Presbyterians elect as Moderator annually to be their spokesman.

I haven't banned anyone from the forum in a long time.
Trolls aren't what they used to be-- just one more sign of social decline, if you ask me.

It's terribly clichéd, but I decided to spend less internet time during Lent. Social media, blogging, and even this estimable forum.
I'll keep an eye on it, for administrative reasons, but don't intend to post for the duration.
