hello. I have a series of questions concerning the rebuilding of Ireland. I would love to hear individual opinions on some of these, as well as poll responses. but let's start with the first one. should Ireland restore the Gaelic Nobility? I am not yet asking about practicality, just if it should.

Good question.
I voted "yes, but they should not enjoy privileges or a formal role in our political structure."

May a non-Irish forum reader (me) have a right to vote?

May a non-Irish forum reader (me) have a right to vote? sure, unless you are a British aristocrat, in that one case get lost; but otherwise, go ahead

May a non-Irish forum reader (me) have a right to vote? Evey member or visitor to the forum is welcome to join in fully, regardless of nationality or any other factor. Especially Tomas, who shows more knowledge of and interest in Ireland than a lot of Irish people. Let's leave the concept of "speaking privileges" to the regressive left.

But as stated in the forum stuff section or general statement each deleting is made by necessity, considering prudence. My vote here were a "yes" but not knowing "how".

I don't mean to threadjack here, but I'm also curious regarding peoples' attitude to an honour system such as they have in the UK-- CBE, MBE, OBE, and all that.
I see no earthly reason we shouldn't have our own. Think of the fun we could have coming up with the titles. We could, for instance, have orders of "ollamh", "file", and "saoi" (which Aosdána uses already). The media would love it. Republics are no fun.

as this poll continues I will probably present a more detailed proposal, but it will take time to formulate it, and I want to see more discusion and votes first
