Assisi the Vatican is busy doing all it can to undermine catholicism without any need for help from the Democrats. Still I am sure the more the merrier.
Our own home grown heretic Mary Mc Aleese is now denouncing child baptism as a human rights abuse . Shocking how wicked parents also force their children to eat nasty healthy food , get vaccinated and make them go to school.
Mrs Mc Aleese claims conscience trumps church teaching and that the only really infallible teachings are the ones around Christ's divinity. She obviously is unaware of the radical views of many modern christological and biblical writers. If I opinioned that I sincere believed in restoring slavery , child labour and that women should be denied education would my sincere conscience allow me to regard myself as a catholic in good standing?

She was an open feminist back when she was president (back when mainstream feminism wasn't as crazy as it is now) and she had absolutely no incentive to remain normal as things in Ireland got worse.

She was willing to go against the tide when she was in RTE, so one would hope she would have more independence of mind. My father thinks it is down to her gay son.

She strikes me as quite angry. Some of her comments are quite nasty and spiteful but feminists tend not to assume good faith on the part of their ideological opposites. In spite of her public pro Gay stance her son felt unable to confide in her until fairly recently, which appears strange.
She seems to have swung 180 degrees theologically. Despite despising catholic clericalism she is an honorary canon of St Patrick's Cathedral. Cardinal O Connell called her receiving the eucharist in St Patrick's (I think) a sham. Much of her public posing and sound biting does the cause of female ordination no credit, if that is what she is trying to promote. Her version of catholicism is now heterodox, or simply put a sham to quote the late Dr Connell.
She has been studying in the Pontifical Gregorian University , Rome for a doctorate in canon law but hasn't yet publically defended her thesis. It will be interesting if her me fein version of catholicism is given a public grilling on that occasion.

To be honest, whenever I dip into a contemporary Catholic journal of theology, I get the impression it is mostly a farrago of heresy. So maybe she will graduate cumma sum laude.

She is probably in a big huff after being barred from a Vatican event for International Women's day earlier this year. How dare anyone, especially an old white man, boss our Mary about and get away with it!

As I just said in another post, I am struggling to find time for all I need/want to do, which definitely includes commenting at this forum.
But I'd like to paste in my latest video as a contribution to this thread.
I would like, too, to say, if anyone sees and appreciates the video, I would particularly appreciate any shares on social media, particularly in Ireland.
"Particularly appreciate" ... I am honestly not even sure why. I guess it's because I put more effort, more sweat and maybe more of myself into this than any other video I've done and somehow I particularly hope this one goes out to the people of Ireland. But, again, I am still not fully clear why I make this particular request with this video ...

Assisi - my belated thanks for this which I regret I only just saw. This entails things I want to understand much better. Thank you. Struggling to keep up, as I just said ... Hm ... I feel like saying that for those who may be interested the latest Brandsma Review is available as a free pdf at their Facebook page. It came out before the Referendum, but has many, many fine things to say regarding it. And somehow I want to paste in something from it by editor Peadar Laighléis. Arguably I should raise this at the forum associated with Brandsma, but I am cutious what people make of it here. I am particularly interested in what I bold about Soros/US Democrats (and again if anyone knows more about such things please pass on links to me). You may know this already, but a series of emails from Wikileaks involved John Podesta, Hilary Clinton's chief campaigner. He talks about their (Democrats) involvement with 2 particular groups/organisations, consisting of liberal Catholics. The purpose of these groups was to chip away at traditional Catholicism in the US and to particularly target Catholic policy in the area of sexual morality in order to bring these views into line with the liberal policies of the Democrats. In short a deliberate and surreptitious attempt to undermine Catholicism. www.catholicherald.co.uk/news/2016/10/12/clinton-campaign-chief-helped-start-catholic-organisations-to-create-revolution-in-the-church/

On the very day the first stage of Harris's Abortion bill passed with over 100 votes for and only 12 opposed,Children's minister Minister Zappone a leading Repeal advocate, announced a full forensic excavation of the Tuam Convent burial site. She spoke of her concern for the dignity of those treated so badly and buried without proper respect by nuns no longer around to explain their actions.
RTE's website repeated the misleading line that himan remains were buried in a septic tank.
Modern Ireland has chosen to honour the unwanted unborn of today by offering to chemically poison them at the tax payers expense. I wonder will a minister in 2080 be apologising for the heartless Repeal referendum and promising to give the slaughtered innocents a decent dignified Christian burial? The irony of today's events will no doubt go over the heads of our new secular moralists.

The immensity of this day seems to increase rather than diminish as it recedes in time.
With most controversies, they seem bigger at the time than afterwards.
Not this one. To me, it bisects modern Irish history. Everything was different after May 25.

The immensity of this day seems to increase rather than diminish as it recedes in time. With most controversies, they seem bigger at the time than afterwards. Not this one. To me, it bisects modern Irish history. Everything was different after May 25. When eventually someone writes up the final history of our land May 25 will I believe be seen as the formal end of that Irish Christendom introduced by Saint Patrick in the dark days of the 6th century. Even under the crown and persecution homage was paid to God and the moral law at least formally. That is now gone or about to be formally repudiated. The death knells of Irish Christianity as the main force in Irish life have been tolling for some time but the final bell is about to sound, in time for Christmas if all goes according to plan. The gut wrenching tragedy is that two thirds of our people, including many idealistic young people and some well meaning christian types voted freely to approve this barbarism. And who will ever forget the whooping for joy , the singing and the demonic dancing in the upper yard of Dublin castle? Today the Dail committee in charge of dealing with ammending the bill rejected requests to offer the about to be aborted fetus pain relief and also the right to a dignified burial. Those who asked for these small measures of pity were denounced as Misogyonistic. The utter heartlessness of those who have engineered this bill can be seen in their misleading and evasive replies to the proposals. One TD claimed it would be used to traumatise women who had miscarriages. No lie is too low to tell to get this vile piece of barbarism on our statute books. Finally we can take our place among the nations.

A few minutes ago all stages of the Harris abortion bill passed into the law of the land. All that remains is the inevitable presidential signature decreeing the death of the innocents.
Just as David Steel's name was linked to the vile UK Abortion Act it is fitting that minister Harris take credit for the horrors that lie ahead. Let it not be forgotten that many former pro life TDs helped produce this law and that the pro life Fianna Fail party failed not only to defend the conscience rights of doctors and nurses they refused even to vote for pain relief at any stage of an aborted pregnancy.
These days a short gospel line from St John has come into my mind - And darkness fell.
I was listening to Handel's Messiah earlier when the sad news came in.The words of the great prophet Isaiah seemed to proclaim an eternal truth which will one day eventually triumph ; " For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government shall be apon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, the mighty God ,the everlasting Father the Prince of Peace.

Very fitting Cato.
